NASA's MESSENGER is a spacecraft that orbited Mercury for more than four years, from 2011 to 2015. Among its accomplishments, the mission determined Mercury’s surface composition, revealed its geological history, discovered details about its internal magnetic field, and verified its polar deposits are dominantly water-ice. The mission ended when MESSENGER slammed into Mercury’s surface.
And here, we are going to visit the remnants of MESSENGER, which is left after it successfully completed its mission and crashed in the end.
