Intro
Syria Planum, a prominent Martian region, is one of the darkest areas on Mars, comparable in darkness to fresh basalt flows or dunes found on Earth. It has a rich history of surface transformations, which have been observed and recorded since the Viking era using telescopes and low-resolution orbital scans. These alterations are primarily driven by the continuous deposition and removal of bright dust particles, carried by prevailing winds that sweep from the planet's northern regions to the south. The Perseverance Rover is currently Jezero Crater and is not far from the northeastern edge of Syrtis Major Planum. Therefore, if you choose Syrtis Major Planum as your travel destination, we'll take you to observe the Perseverance Rover and even take photos with it!
